Combine this with simple, confident and straight-forward strokes, made with a comfortable arm movement. That is the number I’ve usually found to work well with inking, sort of like auto-correcting your lines to be smoother, without slowing the lines down. If your lines are a bit shaky at first, you can try setting the pen stabilizer to 1-5 (up on the toolbar when using brush tool). So it all depends on your preferences too. but right now i’m also working with normal brush pens at 14-30 minimum width, because I am doing a more cartoony, ink pen like style for the lineart. For example, in the brush settings i turn the “min width” all the way down if i want to have a very thin, tapered, “sensitive” or “sharp” look to my lineart. You just have to make sure that it feels comfortable enough and fits your own lining style. The default Firealpaca/Medibang Paint brush is actually decently adequate for this job and is what i started out with when using Firealpaca for the first time before it had customizable brushes. Since it was initially software for photo processing, it is quite good at adjusting colors.

It also supports CMYK, the go-to format used for printed works. Since Paint Tool SAI does not support CMYK, the two software are often used together. Photoshop CC is suited for intermediate users, so we recommend it if you know what you want to create and are happy to customize your software.

Another similar software, Photoshop Elements, has limited functions but can draw digital illustrations without any problems and costs less than US$100.
